About the role

Description

We’re looking for an experienced Honey Homes handyperson to serve as a Backup Classroom Trainer for our new hire onboarding. In this role, you’ll support the primary trainer by leading classroom training as needed, ensuring new hires understand Honey Homes’ technology and how to deliver a 5-star member experience. This position anticipates leading approximately one training session per month and stepping in as backup when necessary.

Location: Oakland, CA

Outcomes

  • Assist in onboarding handypeople, increasing amount of start dates available: Deliver comprehensive ‘in classroom’ training including both presentations and interactive exercises.

  • Share feedback and iterate on classroom training content: Update or add content as our product offering evolves, or based on feedback from trainees and managers regarding gaps. Partner with Ops + Marketing to develop training materials to make classroom sessions more effective, such as improving our ‘test visit’ setup or handouts.

  • Evaluate new hires based on classroom activities and interactions: Observe and identify potential flags; share feedback with Team Trainers and Field Managers to ensure follow up during shadowing.

  • Support onboarding activities as needed: Assist with intros/prep for Team Trainers, print handouts or set up test visits, notify when swag inventory running low, etc.

  • Has a startup mindset: You’re flexible and not stuck in just one way of doing things. You’re willing to test and iterate quickly, and navigate change with grace.

Expectations:

  • Lead interactive classroom training approximately once per month, across 3 days at Honey Homes’ Oakland office

  • Serve as a backup for the primary trainer when needed.

  • Support logistics of classroom trainings and new hire onboarding, including printouts, TV setup (computer provided), polo + bootie inventory, and more

  • Document any observations and feedback on new hires as part of onboarding assessment

  • Follow training program, and provide feedback on areas of improvement

Requirements:

  • Currently “Top 50%” performer (metrics + hospitality)

  • Willingness to commute to Oakland office for 3 days every two weeks

  • Has been a HH handyman for 6+ months

Additional Compensation:

  • $1000 additional annual compensation

Note: Classroom Trainer will have adjusted member count to keep availability balanced.
