Advanced Technology Group

ATG is the research and technology arm of Dolby Labs. It has multiple competencies that innovate technologies in audio, video, AR/VR, gaming, music, and movies. Many areas of expertise related to computer science and electrical engineering, such as AI/ML, computer vision, image processing, algorithms, digital signal processing, audio engineering, data science & analytics, distributed systems, cloud, edge & mobile computing, natural language processing, knowledge engineering and management, social network analysis, computer graphics, image & signal compression, computer networking, IoT are highly relevant to our research. 

 

What You’ll Do

We’re seeking talented researchers in database systems and big data management who are excited to advance technologies that benefit both Dolby and society as a whole. Our research focuses on:

• Data platforms, data science, and analytics—exploring large-scale cloud and edge data services and platforms.

• Cutting-edge methods—accelerating insights from diverse data sources in novel and impactful ways.

Our interests span topics like:

• Big data management and scalable, self-service data cleaning and transformation.

• Enhancing data quality, search, and discovery of structured data.

• Information extraction, time-series and heterogeneous data analytics, and metadata management.

• Applied AI, machine learning, data mining, and visualization.

• Natural language processing.

• Big data systems, with a focus on resource management, storage, caching, query optimization, security, and privacy.
