Job Summary

The Payroll Specialist at Fresh and Ready Food Group is responsible for executing all administrative tasks associated with people management, with a primary focus on payroll processing and employee time tracking. This role works closely with the Operations Manager, and the HR Generalist and provides administrative support to both office and operational staff on 
various matters. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of maintaining confidentiality and discretion. Bilingual candidates are strongly preferred.


Key Responsibilities:
• Process payroll on a regular schedule, including off-cycle and bonus payments.
• Maintain and update the employee time clock system.
• Monitor and correct time sheets daily; ensure all hours are entered correctly and promptly.

• Enter and track holiday, vacation, and sick pay in accordance with company policies.
• Assist with onboarding new hires and conducting orientation sessions.
• Enter and track bonuses when implemented in the facility.
• Maintain accurate and organized employee personnel files (paper and digital).
• Intercept and track call-offs and late arrivals, communicating appropriately with 
operations and HR.
• Respond to employee inquiries and assist with vacation forms, paystubs, and W-2s 
requests.
• Prepare HR documentation as requested by operations, including Attendance Progressive 
Counseling Reports (note: this position is not responsible for administering discipline).
• Lead and organize culture and employee engagement events, including Staff 
Appreciation, Perfect Attendance, Holiday celebrations, and seasonal decorations.
• Maintain and update company policy and compliance documentation, such as labor law 
posters, Workers' Compensation, acknowledgment forms, and required notices.
• Assist with the translation of documents and interpretation during conversations with 
associates, as needed.
• Support HR projects and initiatives as needed.

 

Qualifications:
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or 
related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of payroll or HR administrative experience required.
• Proficiency in payroll systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong understanding of payroll procedures and relevant laws.
• Effective oral and written skills.
• Ability to understand and suggest a resolution to issues.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
