As an RN Resident in the Cardiac Cath Lab, you will provide care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterizations, an invasive imaging procedure that evaluates heart function. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills. 

 

 A caregiver in this position works days, from 6:30AM – 5:00PM, with the availability to be on-call during weekends, evenings and holidays.  

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

• Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.  

• Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional procedures in the Cardiac Invasive Lab alongside a success coach. 

• Perform conscious sedation and hemodynamic monitoring. 

• Prepare, implement and document plan of care. 

• Communicate patient's condition to physician before, during and after procedures. 

• Set up and provide equipment and supplies before, during and after procedures.  

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing  

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)  

• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) 

• Two years of recent critical care nursing experience and three years of Cath Lab experience 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) 

• Two years of experience with Electrical Physiology
