To instruct students in accordance with college policies and procedures. Serves as full-time instructing member in Continuing Education Health Professions Institute (HPI). This position is self-funded and based on the continuation of funding.

Austin Community College is seeking a part time Somatic Movement Education Training instructor to teach somatic movement education principles in a 500-hour training program.
Starting hourly pay: 6 hours/week at $50/hour
Day and time: Weekdays between 8am and 12pm

Requirements
Must be a Registered Somatic Movement Educator and/or Therapist in good standing with ISMETA (International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association)
Experienced dance or movement instructor in an educational setting
Ability to teach Bartenieff Fundamentals, Laban Movement theories, Body Mind Centering, and Authentic Movement
Ability to teach Anatomy at an introductory level
Ability to teach pedagogical practices for group movement, ongoing accumulative classes, and one-on-one SME sessions
Actively engage in student recruitment efforts
Demonstrate advocacy for the somatic field by attending and/or presenting at conferences
Attend ISMETA leadership meetings via Zoom at least twice a year
Prepare students to enter the workforce as an RSME
Deliver instruction base on existing Course Syllabus
New hires will have the opportunity to shadow the current instructor on selected days between May 27th - July 24th, 2025.
This job will commence Fall, 2025.
