<font size="14">ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:</font><br> The ChenMed Care Promoter (MA) is a medical professional dedicated to the health and well-being of our patients. The Care Promoter (MA) is an integral member of a Physician-lead Care Team that is focused on providing excellent and comprehensive primary care for a specific panel of patients. This team is available and accountable to their patients and to one another. The Care Promoter (MA) is expected to build strong relationships with their patients and to be a trusted partner of their physician leader. This will allow them to guide their patients through both complex and routine medical and social challenges. <br> <br> A typical Care Promoter (MA) will have formal medical training. However, dedication to excellent service and accountability in pursuit of outstanding patient care is the most important quality we look for in a Care Promoter. Applicants that demonstrate this dedication and have alternative medical training will be considered (ex: EMT, medic). <br> <b>Primary Duties and Responsibilities </b><br> <ul> <li>Provide excellent service to our patients and to other care team members.</li> <li>Discuss and record patients' medical history, vital statistics and information such as test results in medical records.</li> <li>Work closely with the Care Team (Physicians and Care Coordinators), center staff (i.e. Front Desk and Housekeeping) and other medical professionals such as social workers, case managers, nurses, other physicians, and market leaders to meet the needs of our patients.</li> <li>Show patients to examination rooms and prepare patients for the physician. Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets and physicians' instructions to patients.</li> <li>Process patient phone messages and meet their needs promptly when possible, or elevate needs to other care team members when necessary.</li> <li>Call patients to provide proactive education and identify new opportunities.</li> <li>Maintain treatment areas and equipment according to our defined standards.</li> <li>Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.</li> <li>Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.</li> </ul> <i><b>Other responsibilities may include: </b></i><br> <ul> <li>Help physicians examine and treat patients, handing the physician instruments and materials or performing such tasks as giving injections or removing sutures.</li> <li>Collect blood, tissue or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.</li> <li>Perform procedures under the supervision of the physician.</li> <li>Ensure accuracy of medications provided to patients. (Please check your state regulations.)</li> </ul><br> <font size="14">KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</font><br> <ul> <li>Excellent oral and written communication skills.</li> <li>Empathy towards our patients at all times.</li> <li>Ability to collaborate with team members, including doctors, nurses, front desk staff, center managers, and market leaders.</li> <li>Mindset focused on solving problems for patients and achieving team goals.</li> <li>Knowledge of medical products, services, standards, policies and procedures.</li> <li>Skill in operating phones, personal computer, software and other IT systems.</li> <li>Ability to pay close attention to detail and to ensure accuracy of reports and data.</li> <li>Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow.</li> <li>Ability to act calmly in busy or stressful situations.</li> <li>This position may require some local travel to assist in covering other centers.</li> </ul><br> <font size="14">EDUCATION / SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:</font><br> <ul> <li>Graduate from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program such as AAMA, AMT (RMA), or NCQT.
