About the role

Overview

This position is accountable in helping to manage the operations and human resources of the department and is directly responsible for leading the IV Therapy department and providing leadership to the health system in the area of sterile product preparation.

Responsibilities

Provides leadership and assumes direct responsibility over their area of expertise. Contributes to the development of policies and procedures within Cone Health. Evaluates and leads potential programs for initiatives from development through implementation.--------------------------------------------------Manages financial resources. Maintains accurate documentation of expenses and keeps variances to a minimum. Submits program changes when appropriate and implements when approved. Participates in development of department goals, objectives, budgets, and program statements; and in development, planning, and implementation of new policies and programs. --------------------------------------------------Ensures effective management of human resources. Assesses staffing requirements and training needs; delegates work assignments; defines responsibilities of direct reports; and helps to resolve employee complaints. Completes direct report performance appraisals. Provides staffing as needed. --------------------------------------------------Serves as an educator and role model. Develops and conducts effective training and competencies for staff. Ensures staff competencies are documented and maintained annually. Assists in recognizing training needs and development of training content.--------------------------------------------------Maintains regulatory compliance. Effectively leads and coordinates department activities to ensure facility compliance with regulatory agencies through various intradepartmental and interdepartmental activities and committees. Helps develop collaborative activities across Cone Health pharmacies that plan and implement regulatory compliance activities.--------------------------------------------------

Qualifications

EDUCATION:Bachelors, Pharmacy, RequiredRequired: BS Pharmacy or PharmDPreferred - Master's or PharmD degree; completion of accredited pharmacy practice residency. EXPERIENCE:Computer knowledge and skills; previous experience in IV admixture and chemotherapy preparation; hos, RequiredManagement experience., Preferred LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIREDCurrent and valid NC Pharmacy licensure or eligible to obtain North Carolina pharmacy license within four (4) months of date of hire.PREFERREDPharmacy board certification and/or certificate program completion in key service areas.
