About the role

Within the Global Human Resources organisation, the role of Business Manager supports the Head of HR for CTO and the Global HR CTO team to deliver on the HR and function priorities. Your goal is to make the entire team more successful in delivery of people priorities and projects, across the CTO domains.

Roles and responsibilities

Specifically, in the Business Manager role, you will be responsible for activities related to supporting the global HR CTO team. You are the driving force and accelerator for the team, in the execution of the global HR agenda and the People agenda for the CTO business.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Advising and supporting the long term strategic agenda and preparing plans to deliver priorities and monitoring progress on HR CTO projects and day-to day activities;

  • Acting as a sparring partner, sounding board and trouble shooter for the team in day-to-day activities; as a full member, you can represent the Head of HR- and team in meetings, decisions and action;

  • Supporting the team to prepare for strategic OHI, People / Talent sessions, and presentations for the HR team, MBB meetings and meetings with Senior Leadership Team members;

  • Coordinating the HR topics on the agendas of the MT CTO and HR team;

  • Prepare the CTO HR team meetings and offsites, in terms of the agenda, follow up actions and ensuring these are allocated to the relevant team members and are acted upon;

  • Suggesting and implementing improvements to HR projects and processes, and ways of working, being deeply involved in the content, challenging the content and pinpointing the priority areas, working closely with our Communities of Expertise and Data teams;

  • Acting as a linking pin within the team and with other (HR) departments, the Business Managers within Global HR and CoEs to deliver the best quality service to the business;

  • Managing the HR CTO Euro- and FTE budget in close collaboration with your Finance counterpart;

  • Responsible for leading /owning multiple HR projects within CTO HR such as Step Up performance management, data quality and reporting, continuous listening (pulse surveys, OHI, Sentiment surveys), etc.;

  • You are the go-to person for data,  reports, information and presentations and you drive the upgrade of this activity for the team.

  • You have a solid understanding of the drivers of the ING business. A good knowledge of the internal Human Resources function and external Human Resources trends is preferred.

  • You have a consultancy style, the professionalism to work with senior management, and can work both independently and as part of a team.

  • You have exceptional HR program ownership and execution capabilities with a high level of attention to detail. Strong in analysis, planning & organisation skills,

  • You are able to set priorities in a fast-paced environment and escalate issues in a timely manner.

  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and high work pressure and can also work to tight deadlines.

  • You know how to make complex analyses and you anticipate short term opportunities and challenges.

  • You make connections between current events and HR strategy or the longer-term vision.

  • You can navigate through a network of relationships within the company, including applying your empathy and cultural sensitivity abilities.

  • You are hands-on, proactive, resourceful and willing to go the extra mile.

  • You are a strong communicator at all levels of the organization (excellent written and verbal English language skills and story-telling abilities) and can be assertive when required

  • You are proficient in Microsoft (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  • And most of all: You anticipate what is coming next and make work lighter for all – including yourself   

  • You will hold a Bachelor or Master’s degree, preferably in Human Resources or Business. Ideally, you will have had 5-7 years’ work expe
