The Global Supply Management team is responsible for managing suppliers and commercial issues for autonomous hardware development at Stack. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Manufacturing to lead our team and ensure the efficient and cost-effective production of high-quality products. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic manufacturing plans, overseeing all aspects of the production process, and building and mentoring a high-performing team.

Work location will be in Detroit, MI. The ideal candidate will need to spend a significant amount of time at our build partner facilities. We offer competitive pay, premier health benefits, and an opportunity to work alongside industry veterans from the autonomous vehicle industry.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Oversee the entire manufacturing process, from planning and scheduling to production, quality control, and delivery.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve production efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
  • Monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Build and lead a small, high-performing team of manufacturing professionals.
  • Mentor and develop team members, providing them with opportunities for growth and career advancement.
  • Identify and implement new technologies and processes to improve production efficiency and competitiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and environmental regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering business and finance.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Represent the manufacturing department at senior management meetings.
  • Develop and manage the manufacturing budget.
  • Troubleshoot production problems and implement solutions to ensure smooth operations.
  • Be a visible leader on the manufacturing floor, actively engaging with team members and demonstrating commitment to safety and quality.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Proven track record of success in improving production efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing quality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and lead a high-performing team.
  • Strong technical skills and understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Executive presence and ability to represent the company at a senior level.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality.
