What Health Physics contributes to Cardinal Health
Quality develops and implements quality policies, procedures, and processes to ensure products and services comply with regulatory standards and specifications.
Health Physics provides support and consulting to nuclear pharmacies, manufacturing facilities, medical and non-medical facilities, for the safe use of radioactive materials and radiation producing machines, to enable compliant company and customer business operations. This job family develops, deploys, implements, and trains on health physics and radiation safety policies, procedures, and programs. Health physics engages in licensing, packaging design, auditing, facility and equipment testing, emergency response, and other regulatory activities.

Receives general guidance and may receive more detailed instruction on new projects
Work reviewed for sound reasoning and accuracy
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine calibration of various types of survey meters according to established procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and update electronic tracking system to monitor status of all instruments.
- Facilitate repairs with respective manufacturers.
- Ensures timely receipt, calibration, and return of instruments to internal and external customers.
- Regularly monitor a dedicated email inbox for customer inquiries related to survey meter calibrations, shipping, and other services.
- Respond to customer emails in a timely and professional manner, providing updates on calibration status, shipping information, or directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
- Interacts with Cardinal Health employees and external customers related to services provided.
- Receive and log leak test samples from Health Physics customers.
- Prepare samples for analysis according to established protocols.
- Operate and maintain analytical equipment (e.g., liquid scintillation counter) used for leak test analysis.
- Generate leak test reports or provide data summaries for review by Health Physics professionals.
Qualifications
2-4 years of experience, preferred
Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
Anticipated salary range: $68,500.00-$88,020.00
