Your Role
The Operations Finance Sales Incentive team oversees calculation and analysis of internal compensation paid to Sales and external bonuses paid to brokers, as well as other incentive lifecycle activities and government mandate reporting. The Financial Analyst, Senior will report to the Senior Manager, Sales Incentive. In this role you will be the primary point of contact for a line of business’ sales incentive program administration and facilitate a government mandate reporting program. As a trusted partner to HR Compensation and Sales, you will oversee and facilitate the incentives which drive behavior and help Blue Shield achieve its membership and profitability goals.
This position is based out of California for Blue Shield offices.
Your Work
In this role, you will:
- Manage sales incentive administration activities which include extracting, reconciling, and updating data, as well as running calculation models, forecasting future payouts, summarizing information, and creating reports
- Oversee and facilitate monthly government mandated employer group reporting, to include extracting and updating data, validation, report generation, distribution, and query resolution
- Follow and conduct audit processes and review internal controls to ensure financial transactions are accurate, timely and comply with accounting standards, principles and company policy
- Provide policy guidance and interpretation to ensure financial records are consistent and comply with company policies
- Manage the development of incentive goals which include modeling, coming up with recommendations, and working with management to gain alignment and approval
- Conduct system preparation activities which may include designing and setting up plan designs, populating data, and performing testing
- Partner with HR compensation and be the Operations Finance liaison with Sales in the annual incentive compensation lifecycle
Your Knowledge and Experience
- Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Requires at least 5 years of prior relevant experience
- Detailed oriented with experience working with numbers, data, and systems
- Strong Analytical abilities with a demonstrated history of driving process improvement
- Quick learner and self-starter with strong communication and written skills
- Advanced MS Excel required and Intermediate MS Access skills highly desired
- Experience with Oracle Fusion Incentive Compensation System (nice to have)
