As an IT Systems Technician Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of systems technicians to ensure the stability, security, and optimal performance of our IT systems. You will collaborate with other IT teams, analyze system requirements, and implement solutions to meet organizational needs. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a proactive approach to system administration.
Principal Responsibilities
Team Leadership 20%
- Mentor a team of IT System Technicians, providing guidance, support, and fostering a positive work environment.
- Coordinate and prioritize tasks to ensure the timely resolution of system-related issues.
- Provide guidance on complex technical challenges and support team members in professional development.
- Actively participate in team meetings, sharing insights, and contributing to collaborative problem solving.
System Administration 35%
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems, workstations, and related infrastructure.
- Ensure the security and integrity of systems through proactive monitoring, patch management, and vulnerability assessments.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement and enforce security policies and protocols.
- Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations and procedures.
Technical Support 15%
- Provide technical troubleshooting and resolving escalated system-related issues.
- Provide hands-on technical support for end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Manage and prioritize incoming support requests to meet established service level agreements (SLAβS).
- Collaborate with other IT teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
Infrastructure Optimization 20%
- Work with cross-functional teams to assess system requirements and implement solutions to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Conduct regular system audits to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
