FT Pharmacy Technician - Daylight Clinic Setting

We also provide medication assistance support to ensure our patients have access to the lowest cost for their medications, transportation assistance to and from appointments if needed, community resource connections to close gaps with social determinants of care, integrated care models including targeted chronic disease management support with our Pharmacy team and much more. We assist patients in getting access to Medicaid as well as other insurance options using trained professional staff who serve in these roles.

Pharmacy Technician Responsibilities:

• Enter prescription information including but not limited to: patient searches, prescriber searches, drug selection, prescription interpretation, insurance billing, and basic documentation.
• Accept customer and prescription information required to process new and refill prescriptions, including refill authorization from doctor offices.
• Retrieve medication from inventory.
• Create prescription labels and put them on prescription containers.
• Place medication into prescription containers.
• Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and input customer and prescription data into the computer.
• Assist with maintaining the Pharmacy department by keeping it clean and in order.
• Assist in inventory management processes including order review, inventory returns, restocking shelves, and physical inventory preparation.

• Employment Status: Full-time
• Compensation: This is an hourly position, paid bi-weekly.
• Schedule: Services are provided Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m

Requirements

• High School Diploma, or equivalent, required. Some college courses preferred.
• Current certification by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Pharmacy Technician (or eligible) or Certified Pharmacy Technician status from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or other Virginia approved CPhT accrediting organization.
• Completion of necessary continuing education programs as required by the Commonwealth of Virginia to maintain Pharmacy Technician Licensure and Certification by the PTCB or other Virginia approved CPhT certification organization.
• Knowledge of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
• At least 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred
• Ability to communicate in Spanish or another language is preferred
