About the role

Legends Global, the Leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an immediate opening for a Physical Plant Manager at the DCU Center, Worcester, MA 01608. 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Ensures proper and efficient operation of central Building Management Systems (BMS) 

  • Schedules, coordinates and supervises/monitors general maintenance of facility 

  • Develops and emergency action plan for system malfunctions or breakdowns; develops corrective actions and solutions 

  • Provides technical support, oversees and/or assists with repairs and maintenance of all facility systems and equipment 

  • Ensures proper utilization of the Work Order and ASM Global Maintenance Manager systems 

  • Acts as contact for suppliers, contractors and vendors 

  • Ensures adherence to OSHA, NFPA and other applicable safety codes 

  • Analyzes needs and plans preventative maintenance programs and upgrades for systems 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Directly supervises employees in the Engineering Department.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Legends Global policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE: 

  • High school Diploma or equivalent 

  • Experience with computers and BMS/various automated systems 

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the operation and maintenance of a large building, including HVAC, electrical and plumbing 

  • Specific licensing in the trades (plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, carpentry, etc.) is preferred 

  • OSHA training is preferred 

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES   

  • Excellent organizational skills 

  • Ability to prioritize and to handle multiple projects simultaneously 

  • Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills required
