Data Center Support Services – Trainee Conversion

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is committed to delivering reliable, scalable, and secure cloud services to customers around the world. We design, deploy, optimize, and operate Oracle’s next-generation infrastructure supporting a global network of data centers. As we expand, we're seeking motivated individuals to join our Infrastructure Operations team as full-time Data Center Technicians in our Abilene, Texas data center.
In this role, you will be part of the team that ensures our cloud platform stays always available, secure, and efficient. You’ll work alongside experts in software, hardware, networking, security, and logistics—supporting Oracle’s critical data center environments.
Pay rate will be based on job level at conversion.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics and Operations
- Shipping and receiving: inspect, accept/reject goods, verify shipments, and track all inbound/outbound activity.
- Inventory management: maintain accurate asset location records and perform cycle counts.
- Safely move and stage equipment; support installation/removal of hardware.
- Coordinate with construction, engineering, and vendors to meet project deliverables.
- Ensure safety and security compliance in all logistics operations.
- Document equipment movements and analyze logistics for process improvements.
- Provide escorts to supervise third-party vendors during maintenance.
Breakfix
- Diagnose and resolve hardware issues on servers, network devices, and storage systems.
- Replace faulty hardware components (CPU, RAM, drives, cards, power, cables).
- Install and decommission equipment during system upgrades or refreshes.
- Perform routine equipment/system maintenance.
- Monitor for issues and respond swiftly to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams and vendors to resolve complex issues.
- Manage and update service tickets.
- Follow standard operating and maintenance procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and security of operational areas.
Objective Minimum Qualifications
- Completed the 12 week Data Center Oracle Pathways Trainee program
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Enthusiasm for technology and a strong desire to start a career in data center operations.
- Willingness to learn new technical skills and follow established processes with precision.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in an inclusive team environment.
- Solid understanding of fundamental mathematical and computational concepts
- Professional demeanor with strong communication skills.
- Understand that this role is physically demanding and requires hands-on work rather than desk-based tasks.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces as required.
- Ability to work non-standard hours, including working weekends, night shifts, holidays and on shift-based schedules as required.
- Must have own vehicle for reliable transportation to the Abilene, TX data center location.
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this role. For clarity purposes, this means that Oracle is not in a position now, or in the future, to offer US immigration sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of computer hardware and networking concepts.
Certain US customer or client-facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates.

US: Hiring Range in USD from $18.17 to $34.62 per hour; from: $37,800 to $72,000 per annum.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
