GENERAL SUMMARY

The Director of Community Impact will play a pivotal role in leading our efforts to address food insecurity through our Food Assistance Program and oversee the operations of our Empowerment Hub. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to impact the lives of individuals and families in need, fostering collaboration with community partners, and ensuring the success of our community impact programs. Your leadership and expertise will be essential in driving positive change and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.


ESSENTIAL TASKS:

Strategic Planning and Program Development:

  • Partner with the VP of Programs on the development and execution of a comprehensive community impact strategy, focused on addressing food insecurity and promoting economic opportunities.
  • Partner with the VP of Programs and Justin’s Place leadership to develop a more comprehensive workforce development program, aimed at launching graduates into long-term and meaningful employment opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement innovative programs and initiatives that align with our mission and community needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs, regularly reviewing data and feedback to make informed improvements and adjustments.

Oversight of Food Assistance Program:

  • Provides leadership and direction for our Food Assistance Program to address food insecurity within the community.
  • Engages potential distribution and donation partners and supporters.
  • Prepares outcome reporting using data captured during food assistance outreaches to enhance programs effectiveness.
  • Supervise Director of Program Operations

Oversight of Empowerment Hub:

  • Provide visionary leadership and direction for our Empowerment Hub, ensuring it serves as a centralized resource for community members seeking economic empowerment.
  • Oversight of the day-to-day operations of budgeting, staffing/volunteers, and resource allocation.
  • Foster a welcoming and supportive environment for residents, volunteers, donors, and partners at the Empowerment Hub.

Community Engagement and Partnership:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to maximize the impact of our initiatives.
  • Collaborate with community leaders and partners to identify opportunities for joint initiatives and leverage available resources effectively.
  • Represent the organization at community events, conferences, and meetings to raise awareness and advocate for the needs of the population we serve.

Workforce Development

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive workforce development program tailored to recovery graduates, focusing on job readiness, skills training, and career placement.
  • Cultivate partnerships with local businesses, trade associations, and corporate partners to create pipelines to employment and apprenticeship opportunities for program graduates.
  • Collaborate with educational institutions, trade schools, and certification programs to offer credentialed, career-aligned training in high-demand fields.
  • Oversee job placement assistance, resume writing workshops, interview preparation, and soft skills training in collaboration with the Empowerment Hub.
  • Work closely with recovery and case management teams to align individual recovery plans with employment goals and barriers to employment.
  • Establish systems to measure employment outcomes, retention rates, and wage progression; use data insights to continuously refine workforce strategies.
  • Partner with Development to pursue public and private funding opportunities (e.g., grants, workforce development boards) to sustain and expand employment programs.
  • Engage business leaders, alumni, and volunteers as career mentors, mock interviewers, and job coaches to support client success.


Team Leadership and Development:

  • Mentor, inspire, and guide team members, providing support for their growth and professional development.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the Communit
