Job Details:

Purpose

To provide exercise leadership for the GET FIT program. To help administrate the Fitness Institute of Texas. To conduct, train, and supervise staff and students in performing fitness tests. Supervise office staff. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Lead Administrator for the Fitness Institute of Texas
• Teach exercise classes in Get Fit
• Perform exercise tests
• Supervise staff
• Keep up with and be involved in new campus, city, and national initiatives

Required Qualifications

(Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or related field. At least 2 years of experience in personal training and group exercise leadership.   CPR Certified.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree. Two years of experience in training and supervising exercise leaders. Two years of experience conducting fitness tests. Two years of experience coordinating, directing, and financially managing corporate or community based health, fitness or wellness programs related programs. Experience working with clients on weight loss programs. Public speaking experience. Certification in personal training and/or group exercise. Ability to use the keyboard and related office equipment and knowledge of data processing equipment.  Familiarity with Powerpoint, Excel, SPSS, Microsoft Word.

Salary Range

$44,000 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

Exposure to standard office conditions. 

Work Shift

Hours will be somewhat irregular with 6/7 am – 2/3 pm and 9/10 am – 6/7 pm shifts in addition to typical 8 am – 5 pm shifts.
