Systems Engineer

GCyber is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer to support a mission critical program to enable the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) cloud-based intelligence sharing and collaboration capabilities across its mission partners. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, stability, and performance of AWS and Linux-based systems and servers. This role requires a high level of technical proficiency and an in-depth understanding of Linux operating systems and related technologies.

This position is full time onsite in Arlington, VA. Given the unique mission and classified nature of the work, there is no opportunity for hybrid or remote work arrangements.

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will:
 

• Provide senior-level guidance and engineering for AWS-based solutions in a DoD SAP environment.
• Design, implement, and maintain on-premises and cloud-based infrastructures, including AWS and VMWare environments
• Ensure alignment with security, compliance, and operational requirements.
• Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to ensure secure integration of AWS solutions with other systems and technologies.
• Conduct system performance tuning, hardware upgrades, capacity planning, and resource optimization as required.
• Act as a senior problem resolution resource, diagnosing and resolving complex system operational issues.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
 

• Active DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI poly.
• BS in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Science, Engineering or a related technical subject. Work experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 8570 IAT level II certification (i.e., Security+, CCNA – Security, CySA+, GICSP, CND, SSCP)
• 3-5 years of experience with cloud computing environments such as Amazon Web Services (AWS).
