About the role
SUMMARY:
A technical hands on Senior API Developer, comes with the responsibility to plan, implement and promote API platform adoption at organization level. These efforts are integrated over various systems and may include: API Gateway administration, API design and development, implementing best practices and security policies.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, implement, and manage API gateways and architectures using Apigee, focusing on governance and architecture
- Develop API proxies, configure policies, and implement traffic management, security, analytics, and monetization features on Apigee Edge
- Create API specifications using OpenAPI/Swagger and YAML
- Automate API proxy development and deployment using Apigee tools
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to identify and resolve technical dependencies and roadblocks
- Participate in code reviews and establish best practices for API development
- Develop backend APIS
Qualifications:
- Extensive Rest API experience
- 2+ years of experience with API gateways, like Apigee , Mulesoft , Kong
- 5+ years of experience as a API developer
- Strong knowledge of Apigee components, including Edge and Developer portal Expertise in XML, JSON, web service technologies (SOAP, REST), and data structures
- Deep understanding of JWT tokens, OAuth 2.0 and its grant types
- Experience with Node.js testing frameworks (e.g., Mocha, Chai, Cucumber)
- Ability to create RESTful APIs using Node.js or Java/J2EE
- Familiarity with Cloud and OnPrem (Private Cloud) implementations
- Knowledge of Healthcare industry a big plus
- Apigee certification is beneficial
- Knowledge of data warehouses like bigQuery and SnowFlake
EXPERIENCE and/or EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- 2+ years of Python or Java development experience preferred.
- 4+ years of SQL experience preferred.
- Ability in managing and communicating data warehouse plans to internal clients.
- Experience working with cloud platforms, such as GCP, AWS
