A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Oversees, designs, plans, and develops clinical evaluation research studies.
- Prepares and authors protocols, clinical plans, start-up, and closure documents.
- Site training and trending of potential deviations, study events, and monitoring progress.
- Conducts registered and non-registered clinical studies of products satisfying a medical need and/or offering commercial potential.
- Oversees and interprets results of clinical investigations in preparation for new drug devices or consumer applications.
- Oversees and resolves operational aspects of clinical trials in conjunction with project teams following standard operating procedures (SOP), good clinical practice (GCP), and specific country regulations, and may prepare clinical trial budgets.
- Responsible for clinical study budget, such as planning and forecasting
- May be responsible for clinical supply operations and site and vendor selection.
- People working within a region/country may also have responsibilities that include:
- Represents Medtronic from clinical research within the country/region and collects feedback from local customers and authorities.
- Builds and maintains optimal relationships and effective collaborations with various internal and external parties.
- Helps drive local evidence dissemination & awareness.
Required Knowledge and Experience:.
Requires a Baccalaureate degree
Minimum 7 years of clinical research experience or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience leading an investigational device clinical study
- Experience managing direct and indirect costs for a clinical study
- Experience mentoring team members
- Experience in Pelvic Health or Neuromodulation research
