Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:As the Manager, Merchandising – EMEA, you are responsible for overseeing and coordinating the many aspects of the merchandising strategy and product line to successfully go to market in EMEA across all channels: Retail, Ecommerce, and Wholesale.  You are the people leader of the Regional Forecast Analyst and Regional Visual Merchandise Lead. You work with both the team at headquarters in Vancouver and the local team in EMEA to drive the creation of the EMEA product strategy and ensure its delivery.
This role is primarily based out of our Garching office in Germany and is open to hybrid work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Germany.

As the retail landscape changes, we will work together to evolve our approach with creativity and teamwork. Together with the EMEA Commercial team you will develop a deep understanding of the unique needs of our guests and provide them with the right product offer in the right channel.

If you were in the Manager, Merchandising – EMEA, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Acting as main point of contact for all product and merchandising inquiries related to EMEA for the Merchant, Design & Color team in Vancouver, and our regional channel teams
  • Partnering with the Global Merchandising team to create and deliver the seasonal regional Wholesale assortment strategy, and you consult on the regional eCommerce and Retail assortment strategy
  • Overseeing the Regional Forecast Analyst who is responsible to build the Wholesale Buy for the region and is consulted on the regional DTC Buy in partnership with the HQ merchandise planning team
  • Overseeing the Visual Merchandising Lead EMEA who is responsible for enable the implementation of the brand’s global Visual Merchandising strategy in the EMEA region
  • Delivering seasonal Wholesale Sell-In assets such as regional Wholesale specific visual line plans and assortment plans in collaboration with the Global Merchandising team
  • Consulting with the HQ pricing team to set initial Euro SRP pricing and execute regional pricing seasonally across relevant currencies
  • Partnering with the Allocations and Merchandising teams to bring seasonal flow to life, ensuring global brand integrity with available inventory in the EMEA market
  • Compiling current and historical seasonal forecasts, bookings and sell-through across channels by gender, category, model family and product, current retail pricing, seasonal target pricing and key market margins for EMEA; analyzing this information to help inform current business trends and future product and range plans
  • Collaborating closely with Merchants to understand the product in detail and help educate others on why products exist, how they are positioned, and how to sell them against the competition

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

  • Working with the Merchandising team to develop seasonal EMEA merchandise and product plan that is a selection of the global offering
  • Briefing EMEA-relevant product capsules to the Merchandising team (e.g. Academy product capsule)
  • Owning the commercial seeding budget to enable our teams to seed the right products to the right audience 

Are you our next Manager, Merchandising – EMEA?

  • You have 5+ years of experience in merchandising, product development, wholesale and/or retail buying roles
  • You have strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • You have effective and efficient time management skills, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication and presentation skills
  • You have a proven track record of building and leading high performing professionals
  • You have a strong understanding of the active apparel market within the outdoor industry, as well as the key outdoor activities we make products for
  • You have an excellent understanding of the design, development, and buying processes
  • You have strong leadership and teamwork skills to facilitate work across different internal departments and external key accounts and vendors
  • You demonstrate the ability to work well across diverse teams and departments to establish consensus or drive solutions
  • You are proficient in the use of Adobe and Microsoft Office (especially Powerpoint and Excel)
  • You are willing and able to travel as required (trade shows, key dealer presentations, key vendor meetings, core consumer events, etc.)
  • You demonstrate impeccable taste and deep understanding of
