Job Overview

We currently have an opening for a part-time Food Services Worker (28 hours/weekly) to join our Portland, OR team. Assists in the preparation of the patients' meals and nourishments; serves cafeteria customers, operates the cash register and performs daily after-meal cleanup.

 

Schedule: Part-Time, 28 hours weekly

Holidays: 9 observed holidays per year

Compensation range: The hired applicant's placement within the range is based on qualifications, professional experience and education.

Responsibilities

Food Preparation• Demonstrates skills and abilities to perform food preparation (including maintaining food temperatures), set-up, and service for patients (including special diets) and cafeteria customers.  Food Service Clean-up• Performs clean-up of patient trays and cafeteria dishes and dining room according to department procedure. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to operate Hobart Dishwasher according to departmental procedure and manufacturer’s instructions on file.  Operation of Cash Register• Demonstrates knowledge and skills to operate cash register according to manufacturer’s instructions. Competently rings up cafeteria sales, makes correct change, and is able to reconcile cash drawer at the end of the shift.  Food Storage• Demonstrates knowledge and ability to perform safe storage of food items to avoid waste and spoilage, according to department procedure.   Food Handling • Demonstrates ability to handle food items according to Health Department temperature standards. Uses techniques which prevent cross-contamination of potentially hazardous foods.

Qualifications

Required

  • 1 year of food preparation or distribution experience
  • 1 year customer service experience
  • Food Handler Card or ServSafe
  • COVID-19 Vaccination

 

Preferred

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1 Year Cashier experience
