Position Title: Accounting & Finance Internship
Department: Finance/Accounting
Reports to: Division Controller
POSITION SUMMARY: To support the Division Finance Team in all areas of responsibility: month end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, Accounts payable, AR collection, corporate reporting requirements, plant administration.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with preparing operational data and ensuring data integrity and accuracy
- Assist in the month end closing and financial reporting process including account analysis and reconciliation
- Assist in special projects as necessary
- Performance analysis of operations that drive growth, strategy and profitability initiatives
- Financial plans and forecasts are developed and variances are analyzed against plans
- Ensure inventory matches asset accounting
- Balance sheet reconciliation
- CAPEX processing and follow-up review for ROI
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
- Review employee credit card charges.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Collegiate studies in finance, accounting or related field.
- Proficient in Excel and Word.
- Demonstrated analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to plan, organize, and execute multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, specifically in relating well to diverse groups.
- Demonstrated written and oral communications skills, with a particular ability to write clearly.
- Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills.
- Ability to quickly grasp and understand organizational structure.
- Keen attention to details and a healthy persistence in following through.
