About the role

Job Summary:

The main responsibility of the Project Manager, Asset information is to manage Business Technology projects within the established timelines ensuring they comply with project scope, schedule, cost, quality and procurement requirements. The project manager supports the team in ensuring effective utilization of data, technology Tools and application(s) that support the utility asset lifecycle. This position reports to the Director, Asset Information.

Job Description:

Creates project charter, project plan and its elements for assigned projects including scope from initial project vision through implementation and roll-out of change management and sustainable training·
Collaborates with project teams to develop work plans, timeline and logistics and improve system and processes.
Works with leadership to identify and acquire project resources, both internal and external to the organization.
Oversees and guides project execution.
Organizes and leads Project Management/Steering Committee meetings.
Identifies and initiates mitigation actions in project scope, schedule, cost, project team, consultation, communication, quality, risk and/or procurement during project development.
Ensures contract policies & practices are followed to assure the business achieves the accepted intent of agreements. Provides methods to manage change/exceptions and properly protects the business from failure risks.
Monitors and collects external information on best practices and technologies creating a library of knowledge to be applied in opportunities that arise.
Creates status reports and appropriate project financial reporting, including actual and forecast spending.
Delivers projects on time and within budget.
Identifies and escalates issues to the Director in a timely manner.
Provides timely status reporting to the Director including status of service provider deliverables and business implementation deliverables.
Works closely with business sponsor(s) to ensure project delivery is proceeding as needed
Maintains a solid working relationship with the IT OT team and vendor partners.
Ensures that project management processes, procedures, quality assurance and inspection programs are being adhered to.
Adheres to all standards, policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Performs major storm restoration work and associated drills as assigned.

Additional Job Description:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, information technology or a related field is required
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience managing business technology projects
Demonstrated experience in applying sound judgment to make decisions.
Proven ability to manage and resolve conflicts.
Strong interpersonal and relationship development skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Fluent in English with the ability to read, write and speak is preferred.
Utility knowledge and experience delivering utility business technology projects is preferred.
Executive-level reporting.

Licenses/Certifications:

Valid driver license
Project Management Institute (PMI) certification

Percent of time: 10%
