Meridian Title is one of the nation's largest independent title agencies with over 80 years of experience providing title insurance coverage, escrow closings, and real estate related services. We're always looking for energetic and self-motivated individuals to join our team who share our same values of exceptional customer service, humble confidence, and growth mindset. We currently have an opening for an Accounts Payable Accounting Associate in our South Bend office who has strong Excel skills.


 In this role, you will be responsible for processing invoices, issuing payments to vendors, and maintaining accurate records of accounts payable transactions.


Responsibilities:

  • Process vendor invoices by verifying accuracy, obtaining proper approvals, and coding expenses to the appropriate accounts
  • Prepare and process payment batches, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire transfers
  • Maintain organized filing system for invoices, checks, and supporting documentation
  • Resolve discrepancies and respond to vendor inquiries in a timely manner
  • Reconcile accounts payable statements and ensure accurate record-keeping
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures and preparation of reports
  • Collaborate with other accounting departments as needed

Requirements

  Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or related accounting roles
  • Proficiency in Excel, as well as other Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Associate's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
