About the role

General Description

This position, under the supervision of the Director of Facility Services is responsible for providing diagnostic, troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance and renovation services. Responsible for HVAC and refrigeration systems, general plumbing and electrical maintenance for regional sites located in NJ and PA. Requires being on call 24/7 and travel accordingly.

Essential Functions

  • Monitor work orders and make daily reports of service and/or maintenance needs;
  • Prioritize conflicting work requests and escalations;
  • Implements well planned preventative maintenance and repair programs;
  • Construction skills such as carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing, roofing and welding;
  • Conduct maintenance inspections and repairs of HVAC/Refrigeration systems;
  • Travel to regional sites;
  • Work with outside vendors on renovation and contracted services;
  • Ensure that maintenance tools are secured and monitored;
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance materials;
  • Facilitate online purchasing process for maintenance supplies and parts;
  • Use of Computerized Maintenance Management System for work order submittals, close outs, and scheduled PM tracking and completions;
  • Participate in mandatory training and staff development;
  • Maintain clearance through contracting agencies; and
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Director or designated supervisor.

Qualifications/Skill Requirements

HVAC certification a plus but not required. Minimum five years of experience with commercial HVAC/Refrigeration systems and general maintenance (i.e. plumbing, electrical, construction, etc.). Valid driver’s license required.

Knowledge

  • This position requires an in-depth knowledge of all facility maintenance processes.
  • Knowledge of commercial HVAC/Refrigeration systems.
  • Knowledge of Electrical Systems
  • Knowledge of Plumbing Systems
  • Knowledge of Fire Safety Systems

  • Function independently with minimal direction; Analyze, troubleshoot and perform repairs;
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing;
  • Function effectively in an offender populated environment;
  • Follow instructions and complete multiple tasks properly and timely;
  • Handle a flexible work schedule including weekends and holidays which may be on short notice;
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and ability to drive company van; and follow company policies and procedures

Education Requirements

This position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
