About the role

Requisition Summary

This position performs varied general accounting activities with a high level of autonomy to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions, analysis, and general ledger activity. Performs and/or assists with statistical inventory counts, internal control reviews and Sarbanes-Oxley documentation.

The position will report to the General Accounting Supervisor.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Prepare month-end journal entries assigned within the deadlines established, balance sheet account reconciliations and other reports as part of the month-end process.
  • Identify and complete cash application to AR Intercompany throughout the month as they come in thru confirmations received via Email or Interdivision Account Advice (IDAA). Confirmations of intercompany balances to tie out with subledger.
  • Follow-up on AR Intercompany balances, confirm them with Divisions at month-end. Research any discrepancies within various divisions and research and address aged items.
  • Monthly Intercompany Invoice distribution and respond to various division inquiries and balances.
  • Participate in internal control reviews including Sarbanes Oxley and travel to distribution centers
  • Understand the relationship of operational and financial systems and develops reports in SAP, Excel, Access and SQL
  • Perform SOX testing as assigned
  • Support internal and external audit requests
  • Other duties and accounting functions as assigned

Qualifications

  • BS / BA in Accounting required
  • Master's Degree or CPA preferred
  • 1+ year of progressive accounting experience with increasing responsibility
  • Excellent analytical capabilities and attention to detail with a “big picture” focus   
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines and self-motivated
  • Understanding of US GAAP
  • Requires strong PC skills with Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Must be able to travel periodically within the US and internationally
