About you and this role

Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Customer Manager in Packaging & Specialty Plastics. This position will be located virtually within the United States, preferably in the Ohio/Kentucky area.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing sales of medium to large customers within the dynamic and high growth Wire & Cable market. The scope is regional and may include certain global responsibilities, due the nature of the territory managing Key Customers.

Responsibilities

• Manages account portfolio and prepares and implements sales plans, delivering business goals of volume and value.
• Builds relationships at all levels of the customer, including executive, to drive collaboration and mutual growth.
• Leads and conducts negotiations, developing long term contract agreements, following Dow guidelines and legal requirements according to each region and country.
• Leads and manages account team to show continuous improvement and information sharing.
• Mentors others, helping to develop skills of less experienced sellers.
• Assists the customer and internal stakeholders in understanding the greater financial implications and nuances of decisions and alternatives.
• Serves on cross-functional product and marketing teams where appropriate to drive overarching business performance.
• Summarizes key innovation gaps in portfolio based on customer feedback and helps drive marketing and technical teams towards meeting those needs.
• Understands the broader Dow portfolio and is able to connect the dots and represent “One Dow” to customers through sustainability, inclusion and innovation efforts.        

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.
• A minimum of 7 years’ experience in technical/sales/commercial related positions.
• Fluency in verbal and written English
• A valid U.S. driver's license.
• A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Qualifications

• A degree discipline in business, chemistry or engineering is preferred.
• Experience in the Wire & Cable market.
