Job Overview
Responsible for the overall management and P&L of the North America Life Science business.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Ensures the business operates efficiently and delivers a high standard of customer service by meeting agreed upon annual performance KPI’s and revenue targets.
- Fosters customer relationships and recognizes emerging business opportunities through effective application of these relationships.
- Appropriately respond to high-level customer concerns and business inquiries in a prompt and professional manner, ensuring that the highest level of customer satisfaction is developed and maintained.
- Participates in the development of strategic and operational plans for the North America Life Science business.
- Oversees forecasting and budget preparation and monitors post sales activities.
- Liaises with corporate marketing to develop strategies for the effective commercialization and promotion of the Life Science products and services.
- Conducts business in a manner that is consistent with established corporate initiatives, and strategies, and company values.
- Assists with the development and hiring of talented employees. Provides counsel and seeks opportunities for staff training and development of succession plans. Initiates employee corrective actions, including dismissal, if required.
- Supports and leads the business unit’s annual performance review process.
- Fosters an environment of mutual respect where communication across the business unit is consistent with established policy, procedure, Getinge behaviors, and the Code of Conduct.
- Ensure that all LS business activities are carried out in a health and safety conscious manner in order to reduce work related injuries. Facilitate continuous improvements as a result of proper accident investigation and follow-up.
- Perform other related responsibilities/assignments, including special projects, as required
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field; MBA desirable perferred
- 10 years’ in a business management capacity, with minimum 5 years’ experience in a highly technical sales or business development role with high level decision making and strategy development responsibility.
- Life Science Industry preferred
- Capital Sales Experience preferred
- Located in North America in the Eastern or Central time zone.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills in Excel, Word and Outlook and familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
