Job Description
Grace is seeking an Operations Supervisor to join our Specialty Catalyst Plant Team! This role reports to our Operations Manager and is located at our Curtis Bay Site.
Responsibilities
• Serves as back-up for Area Operations Manager
• Provides Operations Supervisor’s first line of support for resolving personnel and coordination issues with other functions
• Coordinates monthly area production planning factors with corporate S&OP:
• Capacity & capability
• EOQ
• Shutdown schedule
• Fields production schedule upsets and re-balances priorities to best achieve site and area goals
• Aggregates and record area performance metrics. Completes weekly performance reporting
• Conducts regulatory reporting
• Conduct regulatory reporting.
• Develops recovery plans
• Conducts incident investigations
• Manages, schedules, and coordinates area training
• Manages grievances
• Manages area maintenance work backlog and determine maintenance work for weekly scheduling
• Determines maintenance shutdown work
Physical Requirements and Environment
- Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a laboratory environment with highly hazardous materials
- Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materials
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
- Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator
Required Qualifications
- BS in Engineering field (Chemical preferred)
- 5 – 10 years minimum experience, including supervisory experience, in a manufacturing facility.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Maintain focus on Safety and Environmental procedures and policies in all activities.
- Excellent communication skills - verbal and written, ability to vary style to meet needs.
- High level of personal motivation with a drive for ownership and accountability in performance of job responsibilities.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment (leading and participating) with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to make data driven decisions and implement recommendations.
- Ability to learn and use Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools to improve plant operations.
