Job Description

The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry (ODAFF) is seeking part-time Marketing Administrative Technician in the Market Development Division. This position (PIN 04000815) is in state government, located in Oklahoma City, OK. The hourly pay for this position is $12.00.

Position Description: This position performs technical work and will assist marketing coordinators in the Market Development Division with daily program operations. This position supports marketing initiatives and works closely with staff of the Oklahoma Agritourism, Viticulture and Enology, and Made in Oklahoma programs. The primary objective of this role is to grow brand awareness, increase economic development, and engage consumers and online audiences for all three programs which benefit Oklahoma producers.

Typical Functions: Develop content for social media, write feature stories for program promotion and recognition, photograph agritourism venues, Made in Oklahoma products and Market Development events, assist in coordination of events including workshops, trainings, tours and tradeshows

Level Description: This is the basic level where employees perform only the most routine entry level tasks to gain in depth knowledge of the program.

Education and Experience: At this level, of six months of clerical office experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one of the following for the required experience: (a) six months of technical or vocational training course work or high school training in business or office machines; or (b) the completion of 15 semester hours from a college or university.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities: required at this level include knowledge of office methods and procedures; grammar, punctuation, spelling, and mathematics. Skill is required to operate office machines including computers with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and AP Style. Ability is required to follow oral and written instructions; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; to establish and maintain filing systems; and to prepare documents. Design, editing, event coordination experience is preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: This is a remote position with some travel required. Some lifting, up to 50 pounds may occasionally be required. On occasion outdoor work and events require attendance. Employee must have transportation to ODAFF building in Oklahoma City.
