About the role

The Medical Content Outreach intern will gain relevant experience in understanding and developing communication plans, content strategy, and demand management in an academic medical center. During the internship, the selected student will assist in managing projects from conception to delivery, developing relationships with partner departments, providing strong customer service, and tracking internal processes relating to requests. The intern will have exposure to a variety of internal groups including clinical, research and other administrative areas.

Qualifications

  • Working toward an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in media, communications, journalism, digital media, marketing, public relations, English or similar field with a 3.0 GPA or above. Candidates must be entering sophomore, junior or senior year to be considered.
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office products, such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams and Excel
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Able to manage priorities and work autonomously as appropriate
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to influence and engage a wide range of workgroups
  • Maintains confidentiality

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating integrated communication project plans
  • Enhancing relationships with key partners across the institution
  • Collaborating with various internal departments to ensure that requests are fulfilled
  • Researching best practices, understanding audiences and developing ideas to meet needs
  • Identifying customer service gaps within existing projects
  • Attending cross-functional meetings to better understand departmental and institutional goals
  • Brainstorming, participating in decision-making, researching, and presenting project information to various teams
  • Perform other duties as needed
