The estimated base salary range for this role is “70,000 to 95,000” per year.
Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors (salary may be adjusted based on geographic location)

Armstrong World Industries, Inc. (AWI) has a job opportunity for an Architectural Sales Representative covering Houston, Texas. The Architectural Sales Representative will interact with architects, owners, and facility managers to influence and hold the specification of Armstrong Commercial Ceiling Systems. Additionally, the Architectural Sales Representative will be responsible for meeting or exceeding the sales budget regarding price, volume, and mix as well as partnering with other Armstrong sales reps to drive improved business results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Achieving the territory’s sales goals and growing the business by increasing market share, improving product mix, increasing average unit price, sales, volume, mix, and introducing new products.
- Influencing people who make the specification decisions and have a positive influence on others’ behavior.
- Assisting architects and designers in writing specifications for Armstrong Commercial Ceilings, Suspension Systems, Architectural Specialties, and wall systems.
- Tracking projects with the Armstrong team members to establish plans for the sales of Armstrong products in these buildings.
- Growing the business and increasing market share by creating customer value and competitive advantage.
- Learning and continuously improving through individual and team learning and development initiatives.
Required Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Construction Science or a related field
- 5+ years of architectural sales experience.
- Demonstrated ability and experience to effectively manage multiple relationships and priorities
- Ability and experience to plan effectively, both short and long term
- Working knowledge and experience with construction, contracting, and distribution
- Proficiency with computer software, including Microsoft Windows applications
Preferred Education and/or Experience
- Knowledge of specification sales, market segments, customers, and distribution channels
- Experience with SalesForce
- Proven success in architectural selling
