Duties and Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger Management: Assist in maintaining and reconciling the general ledger accounts, including journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, match purchase orders, and prepare payments to vendors. Handle accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, collections, and applying payments.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and analyses for management review, providing accurate and reliable financial information.
  • Expense Tracking: Monitor and analyze expenses, ensuring they are properly recorded and coded in the accounting system.
  • Assist in Audit Preparation: Prepare documentation and assist in the audit process to ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
  • Compliance and Taxation: Assist in complying with local tax regulations, including filing tax returns and preparing supporting schedules for multiple states.
  • Budgeting Support: Collaborate with the finance team to assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Data Entry and Documentation: Accurately input financial data into the accounting system and maintain organized financial records and documentation.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting procedures and contribute to their implementation.
  • Financial Analysis: Support the senior accounting staff with financial analysis, variance analysis, and other ad-hoc financial projects.
  • Personnel Management: Manage two bookkeepers.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and other accounting software
