About the role
- Review shop travelers for accuracy and completeness
- Conduct in process, after action, equipment, and toolbox inspections
- Conduct First Article inspections using AS9102 Forms and documentation
- Create end item data packets consisting of Certificates of Conformance, Indented Parts List and Configuration summary for internal and external inspections
- Conduct Receiving inspection/verification of product and relating certifications
- Ensure all required end item documentation is included and complete
- Complete customer source inspections for detail parts and assemblies
- Interface with program engineering and customers on Material Review Board issues
- Verify and control non-conforming product and the Material Review Bond (MRB) process
- Number / bubble drawings to create inspection reports
- Review certification documents and records for creation of a Certificate of Conformance
- Use CMM and other inspection tools and methods to inspect tooling, first article and production parts
- Provide Quality/Inspection verification support to Manufacturing and Engineering personnel
- Verify and control tool calibration cycles and the supporting documentation
- Provide support to either Program/Project Manager in the areas of project scheduling, data gathering/analyses, database manipulation or population, preparation of technical/project reports or briefings, test plans and reports, and associated documentation, test or validation/verification assistance
- Oversee/perform test or project events as assigned by Program Manager or Engineering supervisor, report status and results
- Participate in test or project events as assigned
- Follow engineering guidance, technical orders, work instructions, and drawings
- Perform moderately complex assembly/test functions utilizing mechanical skills, hand and power tools, test equipment, and inspection measurement equipment in a manufacturing environment
- Perform and inspect wire terminations and wire harness assembly
- Produce and inspect assemblies conforming to customer specifications
- Assemble and/or solder per customer and/or industry standards
- Perform electrical checkout of manufactured wire harnesses
- Document records identifying compliance with assigned tasks regarding wire harness manufacturing
- Establish, organize & maintain detailed inventory of government, customer and KIHOMAC property
- Train and assist other technicians on techniques and procedures
- Build/assemble electrical components according to designs, specifications, and work instructions
- Modify equipment by adding, removing, or altering components as per predetermined processes)
- Observe all safety rules and maintains a foreign object damage (FOD) free work area
- Document records identifying compliance with assigned tasks regarding wire harness manufacturing
- Establish, organize and maintain detailed inventory of government, customer and KIHOMAC property
- Inspect end products according to designs, specifications, and work instructions
- Create and document inspection specifications
- Inspect products and materials per inspection specifications
- Report status and results
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education/Training (both required and desired):
- High School diploma required
- Associate’s Degree in management or technical/scientific discipline desired
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC J-STD-001 Certification desired
Experience:
- 3+ years of professional experience in the required task area required
- Experience terminating wiring and building wiring harnesses required
- Ability to comprehend schematics, logic drawings, layouts, wire lists, and prints required
- Ability to use various hand tools, soldering equipment, and machinery required
- Impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail required
- Thorough understanding of electrical circuits required
- Wire termination experience using DMC Tools “Daniels Kit” style tools required
- Knowledge of cable assembly procedures required
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively required
- Ability to troubleshoot malfunctions, identify and repair malfunctions using provided technical data and tools required
- Familiarity with USAF TO 1-1A-14 (AKA NAVAIR 01-1A-505-1 or TM 1-1500-323-21-1) required
- Capable of standing for long periods of time required
- Ability to identify/assign priorities based on time constraints and resources available required
