Job Description

As a valued leader on our team, you will manage operational activities of a team who evaluate technology commitments, issues, and programming. In this role, you will monitor technology service models, such as managed services, shared services, center of excellence services, or infrastructure services, as well as collaborate with leadership to develop the strategic plan for the function or related business process.

The Senior IT Manager - Market Room role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:


•    Manage a team of technology engineers and technicians to support Capital Markets trading desk operations and live trading activities.
•    Serve as the primary technology operations contact in the market room; manage workflows and ensure compliance.
•    Implement and monitor operational risk controls to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
•    Collaborate with trading, compliance, legal, and middle/back-office teams for smooth trade execution.
•    Partner with technology and project teams to drive process improvements, system upgrades and automation initiatives.
•    Prepare for significant market events and ensure business continuity.
•    Guide, mentor and support employees to enhance their skills and career growth.
•    Set clear expectations, provide feedback and conduct performance evaluations.
•    Train and mentor new team members and junior staff on operational procedures, trading platforms and best practices.
•    Produce technology operational reports and metrics for management review.
•    Work closely with technology and project management teams to enhance trading platforms, market room systems and automate manual processes
•    Support new product launches, business initiatives and regulatory change implementations from an operational perspective.
•    Create and maintain detailed operational documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials.
•    Produce operational reports and metrics for management review.
•    Manage technology issues through a ticketing system.
•    Oversee initiatives to install and maintain hardware and software.
•    Maintain user access accounts

•    10+ years

Skills:
•    Train and mentor new team members and junior staff on operational procedures, trading platforms and best practices.
•    Assist employees grow professionally and personally.
•    Guide, mentor and support employees to enhance their skills and career growth.
•    Strong understanding of trading platforms, market data feeds, order execution and post-trade processing.
•    Strong understanding of system administration tasks, user profile management, OS level troubleshooting and system performance monitoring
•    Experience with endpoint management tools like Microsoft SCCM and familiarity with device provisioning, patch management and software distribution processes.
•    Knowledge of networking concepts, latency analysis and firewall configurations.
•    Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
•    Proficiency in Python R or excel for data analysis, automation and reporting to optimize trading strategies and operational efficiency.
•    Ability to oversee real-time issue resolution, ensuring minimal downtime and swift recovery from system failures.
•    Strong ability to liaise between traders, technology support teams and compliance officers to align technology with business needs.
•    Ability to define and implement proactive health checks, dashboards and alerts for applications/services supporting trading activities.
•    Familiarity with Market data vendors (Bloomberg, Reuters) and pricing feeds.
•    Ensure consistency of product performance with requirements and design.
•    Optimize software programs and track changes.
•    Expertise in service management concepts for networks and related standards such as ITIL practices or SDLC
•    Experience with ITIL practices, including: service strategy, service design, service transition, service operation, and continual
