Job Summary

Job Purpose

The Shared Services Center was established in 2019 with the aim of centralizing the transactional accounting activities of 65 European Imerys entities delivered through three service streams : General Accounting, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables.  The general accounting department is mainly responsible for the fixed assets accounting, Treasury and banking activity, intercompany cycle, preparation and posting of general ledger transactions and production of monthly reporting.  The department is structured based on the key business activity provided by four process sub-teams in order to build expertise and in depth knowledge within our teams and provide a high level of services to our internal clients. As part of our continuing expansion of our services we are currently looking for a new team member to join the Intercompany team. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Preparation and posting of manual journal entries ( accruals, reclasses, netting)

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of intercompany accounts to ensure all balances are accurate and discrepancies are resolved promptly

  • Work closely with finance teams across various departments and international offices to gather necessary financial data, facilitate transactions, and resolve discrepancies

  • Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements, ensuring that intercompany transactions are accurately reflected in the company’s financial reports

  • Participate in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations for intercompany transactions and reconciliations

  • Ensure all intercompany transactions comply with company policies

  • Preparation of the controls for the assigned entities 

  • Support at ad hoc request from CAR 

  • Participation in special projects relating to the improvement and harmonization of processes and existing activities

  • Preparation of BS reconciliation according to the group policy 

  • Perform the first level of review for intercompany entries posted

  • Functions as a team member by assisting, supporting, and encouraging other employees in any way possible.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business

  • 4-6 years of working experience in a relevant position (experience in audit industry will be considered as an asset)

  • Experience with ERPs (experience with SAP4 Hana will be a plus).
