Job Title: Senior Billing Specialist
Location: Melville, NY (on-site)
Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000

Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Billing Specialist to join our team. This individual will be responsible for managing billing processes, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring that all invoices is accurate and timely. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in healthcare billing, particularly in home care services, and be proficient with billing software and Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Invoicing: Assist in creating and distributing invoices to payers, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely dispatch.
  • Billing Reconciliation: Support end-of-month billing processes, ensuring all billing information is accurate and up to date.
  • Billing Inquiries: Respond to client inquiries related to invoices, charges, fees, and payment details. Provide clear and detailed explanations of billing information. Assist clients with making payments, setting up payment plans, and resolving issues related to payment methods such as credit card transactions or electronic funds transfers. Investigate and resolve billing disputes and discrepancies, including researching client accounts and collaborating with other departments to address and rectify errors.
  • Account Maintainenace: Maintain accurate client account information, including updating addresses, contact details, and payment preferences. Communicate effectively with clients via phone, email, or chat to provide timely and accurate information regarding billing and payment concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in healthcare, business, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare billing or medical office settinggs. Home care billing experience required.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel (pivot tables experience preferred).
  • Proficiency with billing software specific to home care services and electronic health records (EHR).
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle complex billing inquiries and disputes.
