Summary
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIESThis position will provide direct support to the Program?Coordinator in daily operations and oversee volunteers and student interns in relation to community outreach programming. They will work collaboratively with Food Security team members to address systemic issues impacting food security, food access and food policy initiatives and practices in Guilford County.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS
An employee in this class will provide support to the Program Coordinator and manage volunteers, interns,and/or AmeriCorps VISTAvolunteers by providing administrative and logistical assistance. Work is performed under the general direction of the Food Security Program Coordinator. This position is funded through ARPA allocation through 2026.
Examples of duties
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDuties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Manage and monitor performance of volunteers, interns, community liaisons and/or AmeriCorps VISTA volunteers members supporting food security work in Guilford County.
Perform administrative work including scheduling, daily operational tasks, coordinating the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive county-wide initiatives to address food insecurity and access for the purpose of building a robust and inclusive food economy for residents to find affordable and healthy food.
Assist Food Security Coordinator in developing and implementing detailed projects plans, timelines, budgets, scope of work and objectives.
Assist Food Security Coordinator in providing administration of integrated food security efforts in Guilford County administered by Cooperative Extension.
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships and partnerships with key internal and external partners, networks, coalitions, and organizations critical to the achievement of food policy goals.
Track and document activities and outcomes for evaluation and reporting to stakeholders.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
Ability to train and coordinate volunteers, community liaisons, and interns.
Team orientation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to be detail oriented.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to prepare program data, information, and reports are complete and accurate.
Ability to develop and maintain positive, productive, and effective relationships and partnerships.
High degree of professionalism and ability to work with people from local government, nonprofits, local businesses, and community members.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings, workshops, and discussions to bring diverse viewpoints together to work towards a common goal.
Attend staff meetings, staff training, and other meetings as required.
