Position Overview:

The Senior Lead Person within the department is responsible for ensuring standard work practices are being followed across all four cycles ensuring optimal operation of the Cable Handling Department. To support this goal, the Senior Lead Person will work directly with Process Engineering to develop and document standard practices, conduct training and mentoring with Lead Persons, T1s, T2s. The Senior Lead Person will assist the Focus Factory Manager in developing an integrated tanking and assembly schedule to efficiently support system loadout on ships.  The Senior Lead Person will assist the Focus Factory Manager in the development and execution of the department long term CAPEX program. This position must be prepared and able to perform all the functions within the area as needed, with a focus on meeting production needs.  This work is in an environment where attention to detail, a focus on safety and quality as well as an ability to strive for continuous improvement are crucial.  

Responsibilities and Duties: 

• *Train and mentor Lead Persons, T1s and T2s in efficient day to day execution of the tanking and shipload schedule
• *Assist Focus Factory Manager in the development of long term CAPEX plan for Cable Handling department
• *Assist Focus Factory Manager in developing an integrated tanking and assembly schedule to efficiently support system loadout on ships
• *Trains new employees on manufacturing processes and computer skills and provides ongoing coaching to all employees within area
• *Promotes job and process improvement as it relates to the department (through 5S as well as other improvement initiatives), including Gemba walks, value stream mapping and kaizen activities as well as audits
• *Directly interfaces with engineering to develop and codify best work practices for efficient operation of the department
• *Monitors process inspection and testing queues with a focus on level loading
• *Follows safety guidelines (PPE, etc.) and demonstrates safe work practices
• *Maintains a good safety record, has a working knowledge of the behavioral based safety initiatives, and accepts the responsibility to communicate unsafe situations
• *Adheres to the safety and quality standards (goals and metrics) of the organization while working within a team environment
• *Maintains timely and accurate production reports, checklists, and other documentation
