The VP of Operations is responsible for leadership of the manufacturing organization including people development and reasoned cost control. This position also has responsibility to drive productivity and optimization of the production capability. This position is responsible for establishing and implementing manufacturing strategy that aligns with business strategy, developing justification and obtaining authorization for investments, attainment of cost objectives and driving process reliability for increased capacity and improved performance.

Essential Functions:
- SBU leadership expertise on ERP system operation, trouble shooting and future implementations.
- Develop a culture of Best Practices and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Ensure compliance with company safety, environmental, human resource, and quality and maintenance policies.
- Coordinate efforts between production and supply chain, finance and other business functions.
- Provides leadership and coaching to subordinates that develops, drives, and nurtures a culture of planning, responsibility and accountability to achieve overall business goals.
- Coach, counsel, and mentor team members to facilitate their growth and development and to assist in preparing team members for movement along their career paths.
- Contribute to the effectiveness of the business unit planning and goal setting process by developing, recommending, implementing and achieving operational plans, goals, budgets, and capital requirements.
- Lead and conduct weekly and monthly business meetings including managing the execution and milestones of major projects.
- Support and participate in the consistent evaluation and audit of product suppliers' and logistics providers' capabilities.
Experience, Education & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering is preferred
- 8+ years related operations management experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment
- In-depth understanding of functions including, but not limited to: accounting, supply chain, quality, manufacturing, customs and human resources.
- Comprehensive computer skills, including use of MS Excel, query/reporting tools, ERP and spreadsheet macros.
- Must be team oriented, self-motivated and able to motivate those working with and for this position.
- This position requires moderate travel.
