As a leader in muscle biology and the mechanics of muscle performance, the company is developing small molecule drug candidates specifically engineered to impact muscle function and contractility.
In this exciting role, the Director, US HCP Marketing will not only have a significant impact on the continued and future success of our US business at Cytokinetics, but also the lives of those living with this challenging disease.
You will be responsible for developing and executing educational programs and content specifically designed for healthcare professionals (HCPs), aiming to increase product awareness, understanding, and appropriate usage by leveraging marketing strategies while adhering to strict compliance guidelines; key responsibilities include designing curriculum, creating educational materials, collaborating with medical affairs, managing KOL relationships, and evaluating the effectiveness of medical education initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Curriculum Development:
- Designing and developing comprehensive medical education programs aligned with product features, clinical data, and HCP needs, including targeted learning objectives, course outlines, and presentation materials.
Content Creation:
- Writing and editing educational content such as slide decks, webinars, online modules, publications, and training materials, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with regulatory standards.
KOL Engagement:
- Identifying and managing relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) to develop educational content and participate in peer-to-peer programming.
- Plan and execute Marketing advisory board meetings to generate strategic insights and maximize HCP engagement opportunities.
Program Delivery:
- Facilitating live and virtual medical education events, including speaker training, including conferences, workshops, and webinars, tailoring presentations to different learning styles and audience needs.
Marketing and Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Working closely with the marketing team to integrate medical education initiatives into broader marketing campaigns, ensuring consistent messaging and brand alignment. Partner with Sales to support execution of relevant programs.

Metrics and Evaluation:
- Tracking and analyzing the impact of medical education programs through post-event surveys, usage data, and other metrics to identify areas for improvement.
Compliance Oversight:
- Maintaining adherence to all relevant regulatory guidelines and ethical standards related to medical education activities, including ensuring proper disclosure and transparency.
- Manage the internal legal, regulatory, and medical review and approval of new materials to enable responsible and compliant HCP communications.
Other:
- Manage budgets and closely monitor performance, ensuring cost-effective delivery of all programs and supporting agencies/vendors.
- Domestic travel up to 20%.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree is required; MBA or other advanced degrees is preferred
- 10-12 years of pharmaceutical experience with focus on US/global marketing and brand management
- Demonstrated ability to develop HCP marketing strategy and execute/measure promotional campaigns, in particular with launch brands
- Experience in rare disease and/or oncology in creating unique HCP experiences preferred, including ETASU REMS implementation and working with specialty pharmacies
