Job Description

The Senior Specialist, Strategic Forecasting will assist in developing strategic forecasts for a range of products and indications. This role involves interpreting forecasting implications, generating insights, and communicating effectively with various business units to facilitate marketing strategies. The Senior Specialist will collaborate closely with Digital, Data, and Analytics functions—such as Market Research, Data Science, and Payer Analytics—and work with commercial stakeholders, including Global and Regional Marketing, Market Access, Pricing, and Finance, to deliver actionable forecasts and insights.

This role will specifically support the development of strategic forecasts for early pipeline programs to inform Long-Range Operating Planning, product development decisions, and commercial assessments related to business development and licensing.

Primary Responsibilities include and may not be limited to:

  • Assist in identifying appropriate forecasting approaches and tools for specific assets and indications, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Collaborate with the Business Insights lead and various functions (Market Research, Data Science, Payer Analytics, Competitive Intelligence) to develop insights that inform strategic forecasting.

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of forecasts aligned with the company's forecasting process.

  • Work with Marketing, Market Access, Real-World Evidence, and Finance teams to ensure alignment on forecasting inputs and insights.

  • Support data analysis to address business strategy and decision-making needs.

  • Engage with team members in a matrixed organization, fostering collaboration and effective teamwork.

  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders regarding the forecasting process and insights.

  • Assist in problem-solving with functional colleagues around targeted business questions.

  • Build strong relationships with business partners to develop forecasting solutions that support business objectives.

  • Occasional travel may be required (<10%).

Qualifications:

Education Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) degree.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in analytical projects within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with exposure to market research, data analysis, and forecasting.

  • Ability to work hybrid and come into the Rahway, New Jersey or North Wales (Upper Gwynedd), Pennsylvania office at least 3 days per week.

  • Basic understanding of forecasting models and analytical methods.

  • Experience working in cross-functional, matrixed teams, demonstrating collaboration and empathy.

  • Ability to manage ambiguity within diverse teams.

  • Self-motivated and proactive, capable of working independently and collaboratively.

  • Proficient in breaking down business questions into actionable hypotheses.

  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize work effectively.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Experience supporting financial or commercial projects.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience in relevant therapeutic areas (oncology, vaccines, or pharma).

  • Familiarity with forecasting methodologies, including patient-based and trend-based approaches.

  • Prior collaboration experience with Marketing, Market Access, Finance, Market Research, Data Science, or Payer Analytics functions.
