Job Description
Summary
This position requires reviewing castings and dispositioning per part specific IMRS and customer criteria. It also involves processing parts by removing or reducing defects using available tools and equipment. The ideal candidate has experience disposition parts for both process and product related defects, can interpret technical specifications, is detail-oriented, and can work independently. A successful candidate will effectively communicate common defects to the appropriate parties and escalate issues appropriately.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Must have the ability to read and comprehend engineering and customer specifications.
- Must have the ability to follow written instructions.
- Checks to make sure previous paperwork has been completed and signed off and ensures that paperwork matches parts to be inspected.
- Completes all required paperwork.
- Must be diligent in MRB Dispositioning within 48 hours or assisting appropriate engineering representative in doing so within the required time limit.
- Must have adequate organizational skills.
- Performs rework per applicable specifications while staying within limits specified by customer supplied specifications and part specific IMRS.
- Must have adequate communication skills to relay necessary information to responsible engineering, quality, and/or production representatives.
- Must have the ability to analyze and interpret dimensional data.

Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent in life experience.
- Aerospace industry experience preferred.
- Experience with Castings preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office required.
CERTIFICATIONS
Additional method certifications desired but not required: Borescope Inspection, Visual Inspection, FPI, and Benching.
Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
