Position Summary
Reporting to the Head of Metrea Aerospace Design, the Aerospace Configuration Control Specialist manages engineering data and controls the configurations of engineering products per FAA regulations and industry best practices. Drawings and data produced by the engineering team must be processed for review, release and distribution in a controlled manner and the Configuration Control Specialist oversees and enforces these procedures. Other duties may include general office administrative duties, technical document reviews and development of non-technical documents for engineering and general office use.
Essential Functions Statement:
- Establish, control, and maintain required configuration information for multiple programs.
- Facilitate configuration control board meetings, coordinate engineering drawing review and release.
- Familiarity with FAA certification processes highly desired.
- Utilize configuration and data management procedures.
- Gather and provide necessary data items to support technical meetings
- Support program management and engineering staff in utilization of database tools and processes
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department and the Air and Space Group Capability Units
- Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment
- Perform other duties as necessary
- On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location
- Work is performed in an office environment
