Description
The Department of Mental Health, Central Mass Area is seeking a compassionate and energetic licensed social worker for a residential program in Dedham to provide direct care clinical services to individuals using evidenced-based clinical treatments, psychiatric treatments, symptom/wellness management, trauma informed care, crisis intervention, relapse prevention, and risk management.
Note: This is a full-time, 40-hour position. The schedule is Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The days off are Saturday and Sunday.
Duties and Responsibilities: (These duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):
- Engage residents and establish trusting and collaborative relationships to assist them in achieving their goals.
- Promote and uphold the process and principles of recovery, with an awareness towards the stages of change, in order to promote hope, healing, empowerment and connection.
- Provide comprehensive assessment for all areas of the resident’s life, including the completion of their clinical formulation, and engage in treatment planning to develop their Community Service Plan (CSP).
- Assess and review areas of risk and safety; Provide crisis intervention, Develop crisis management plan(s) in collaboration with the resident, program, and other supports/providers; Assist resident(s) in identifying and/or applying skills for self-management of crisis situations.
- Assists staff members in completing CSP interventions and appropriate documentation, identify and address when treatment interventions are unsuccessful, and update CSPs accordingly/at the scheduled review date.
- Complete record reviews to ensure that files/charts follow both internal and external requirements including DMH/Rehab Option regulations and policies and, are of a high-quality using recovery and person-centered language.
- Complete clinical billing documentation in a timely, thorough, and thoughtful manner.
- Use recovery-oriented, trauma informed, motivational interviewing, harm-reduction, culturally aware/curious, and strength-based approaches to help residents engage in the recovery process and to communicate their strengths, hopes, dreams, and goals to their team.
- Provide psychoeducation and skills training using evidence-based practices in areas such as; psychiatric illness management, symptom reduction, trauma-informed interventions, motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, DBT, CBT, and in addressing co-occurring disorders.
- Contribute their expertise and training to staff members related to clinical, trauma-informed, psycho-educational, behavior management, and culturally aware/curious services as well as provide clinical consultation as needed.

Required Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work
- Current and valid licensures as a Licensed Certified Social Worker or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Social Work
