Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Part Time Evenings Variable

Salary Range: $64.07 - $78.13 plus applicable shift differential Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Director, Laboratory Supervisor, or Lead CLS, the CLS per forms technical procedures working with little or no direct supervision in any area of the clinical laboratory. These areas include Blood Bank, Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology, Microbiology, Serology and Urinalysis. Must perform and report timely and accurate test results to assist physicians in their diagnosis and treatment. Duties include clerical tasks, computer usage, related laboratory service. Works with potentially infectious blood and body fluids specimens. must be competent to assess and meet the needs to patient of all age group or contact appropriate hospital resource for guidance. must also maintain a working knowledge of CLIA, FDA, and Agency standards.In addition to performing the essential functions listed below may also be assigned other duties shifts, or departmental rotations as required.Education:
Required - B.S. or equivalent in medical technology or biological sciences
Desired -  Advanced degree or certification

Work Experience:
Required - Relevant experience required in the hospital or reference laboratory
Desired - Generalist experience in all areas of laboratoryLanguage Skills:
Required - Ability to read, comprehend, and write English with good spoken skills

Computer Skills:
Required - Working knowledge of LIS systems. must be proficient with standard word processing spreadsheets, power point or similar programs
Desired - Background/knowledge of standard DB systems desirable

Other Skills and Abilities:
Required -  Experience with automated laboratory instruments, effective verbal and written communication skillsOther Qualification:
Required - Must be able to work weekends, variable shifts, etc.This is a new position requested for optimum resources available for the Trauma Program
