As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Scientific Products you will play a pivotal role in the design, development and implementation of mechanical systems, with a specific focus on refrigeration systems for pharmaceutical equipment. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience, technical expertise, and a proven track record of successful project delivery in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities
- Mechanical System Design: Lead the design and engineering of mechanical systems for pharmaceutical equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and customer specifications.
- Refrigeration System Focus: Spearhead the development and optimization of mechanical refrigeration systems, applying expertise in thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid dynamics.
- Project Management: Oversee and manage engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring on-time delivery, within budget constraints and meeting quality standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, process engineers and project manages to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into overall equipment design.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and uphold rigorous quality control measures to guarantee the reliability and performance of mechanical systems, with a focus on GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) compliance.
- Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation in mechanical engineering processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of hands on experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on pharmaceutical equipment.
- Proven expertise in the the design and optimization of mechanical refrigeration systems.
- Strong project management skills with a history of successful project delivery.
- In-depth knowledge of industry regulations and standards, including cGMP.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Professional engineering license is a plus.

Work Environment
- Work is normally performed in both the office and the shop.
- The office environment is an interior office with air conditioning.
- The shop contains mobile equipment, machinery, and high voltages.
- The shop noise level is variable and may require hearing protection in some areas.
- The shop is heated when required but many areas are not air conditioned.
- Some shop processes use high voltage arcs or concentrated magnetic fields.
- The shop contains open flames and caustic chemicals.
- Some shop areas may be designated hard hat zones.
- Travel to customer and sister company sites is required, including international, estimated at 20% per year
