Position Overview:
The Director of Quality is a key member of the leadership team responsible for setting and executing the quality vision and strategy across the organization. This individual will lead all aspects of quality assurance, control, and compliance while fostering a culture of safety, integrity, and continuous improvement. The Director will oversee quality systems, regulatory compliance, product and process quality, and customer satisfaction initiatives across multiple departments and facilities.
This role requires a strategic thinker with deep expertise in aerospace quality standards, demonstrated leadership in quality management systems (QMS), and the ability to influence cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence.
Primary Responsibilities:
Quality Strategy & Leadership
- Define and lead the organizational quality vision, strategy, and objectives aligned with company goals.
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of Quality Management Systems (QMS) across the enterprise.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality performance, driving accountability at all levels.
Regulatory Compliance & Audit Readiness
- Ensure full compliance with all relevant regulatory, industry (AS9100, ISO, etc.), and customer-specific quality standards.
- Lead internal and external audits, including customer and third-party audits. Drive timely resolution of non-conformances.
- Maintain all certifications and ensure site audit readiness at all times.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Program Management to ensure product quality from design through delivery.
- Lead cross-functional root cause and corrective action initiatives (RCCA) to eliminate systemic quality issues.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and develop a high-performing quality team, including managers, engineers, and inspectors.
- Set clear expectations, mentor future leaders, and oversee training and certification programs.
- Ensure succession planning and professional development across the quality organization.
Customer Satisfaction & Relationship Management
- Act as the voice of the customer within the organization with regard to quality concerns and product performance.
- Build strong relationships with key customers and ensure timely resolution of customer complaints and quality issues.
