What you’ll need to succeed as a Manager, Technology at XPO

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 5 years of proven expertise working on teams building high quality software engineering solutions to applied business problems
  • Experience leading software engineering teams’ roadmaps and deliverables on high visibility projects
  • Experience presenting to Senior Leadership
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies and processes in an Agile environment

Preferred qualifications:

  • Transportation/logistics industry experience
  • Deep understanding of economics, mathematics, and Machine Learning/AI
  • Subject matter expertise in Revenue Management, Pricing, and/or Sales related technology and platforms
  • Experience working as a project manager, product owner/manager, data scientist, and/or technical lead

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Lead a technology team responsible for delivering high quality solutions to internal business problems quickly and creatively
  • Build and maintain financial shared services software systems in a fast paced environment to help streamline order entry, billing, claims, disputes, and other relevant areas. 
  • Operational ownership of projects and systems which includes leading initiatives of various size in capacity and resource planning, project plans, project tracking, status reporting and actively influencing work efforts
  • Drives continuous improvement efforts and fosters innovation throughout all team activities
  • Actively partners with stakeholders to determine customer requirements, develop solutions, assess project viability, and providing estimates for deliverables
  • Effective management of geographically dispersed staff, including hiring and conducting performance reviews, focusing on career development for team members and responsible for course correction when needed
  • Team development and coaching to increase bench strength and flexibility of teams
  • Knowledge and accountability for compliance to XPO Project Development and SOX controls
  • Vendor management to include: relationship management, product roadmap, support issue resolution and support contract negotiation
